Today’s word is: reciprocate – reciprocate means: respond to someone’s gesture or action by making a corresponding one, to share the same feelings or to behave in the same way as someone else.

The word reciprocate means a corresponding action in response to someone else’s action. For example, we can say that when the fans called out his name, the movie star reciprocated with a smile and a wave of the hand.

Example number 1 of 8: The school had offered a scholarship to Dev during his school days. Later, he graduated and got a government job. He decided to reciprocate the help and gave a donation to his school.

Example number 2 of 8: Jimmy was an excellent speaker. He opened his speech with some funny quotes. The audience really liked it and reciprocated with laughter and claps.

Example number 3 of 8: The two-wheeler company announced grand prizes for its best-performing dealers. The dealers also reciprocated by surpassing their targets. This was a win-win situation for both parties.

Example number 4 of 8: The principal scientist from a government institute was invited to visit a science exhibition. He reciprocated the invitation and visited the venue with his team.

Example number 5 of 8: Dr. Jadhav held a free medical camp in a village. A large number of villagers benefitted from this camp. To reciprocate his kindness, the villagers hosted a special dinner for him and his team.

Example number 6 of 8: Nipun donated a bottle of blood for a very sick patient. The patient’s family was grateful and reciprocated his gesture by gifting him an idol of the deity.

Example number 7 of 8: The boy and girl were from different financial and social backgrounds. The boy expressed his willingness to marry the girl, albeit the girl could not reciprocate his feelings.

Example number 8 of 8: The head of marketing suggested some changes in the product design. The production team reciprocated the suggestions by charting out a plan of action to incorporate the changes.
