Today’s word is: recipient. Recipient means: a person or thing which receives or is awarded something, capable of receiving something

When a person receives an amount or an award, then he is called the recipient.
For example, Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross organisation was the recipient of first Nobel Peace Prize in 1901.

Example number 1 of 8: The ice cream maker announced a lucky draw to attract the customers. As per the scheme, every thousandth member will be a recipient of four tickets to an amusement park.

Example number 2 of 8: Brigadier Singh was a recipient of President’s medal for unprecedented bravery. He had fought a relentless battle with limited resources and saved the lives of several civilians.

Example number 3 of 8: Many of us are familiar with the exceptional voice of the melody queen Lata Mangeshkar. She is the recipient of the prestigious Bharat Ratna award from the government of India for her distinguished career.

Example number 4 of 8: Nelson met with an accident and was a recipient of two bottles of blood donated by complete strangers. After he recovered, he introspected and made up his mind to be a blood donor himself.

Example number 5 of 8: Madhav is the recipient of an award this year from the Agriculture ministry. He not only implemented innovative techniques for cultivation in his farm, but also shared his knowledge with fellow farmers.

Example number 6 of 8: Many members belonging to the medical profession have been trying to encourage the culture of organ donation in India. They are highlighting the fact that multiple people can be recipient of organs from a donor’s body.

Example number 7 of 8: The transfer of money through a cheque takes minimum three working days. On the other hand, the electronic money transfer happens within minutes and the recipient of the money can utilise the money immediately.

Example number 8 of 8: Priyanshi has taken the pains to revive the ancient art of handicraft in the villages of central India. This was appreciated by the state government and she is a recipient of an award for the same.
