Today’s word is: unilateral. Unilateral means: something done independently by one person, group or country or performed by only one side.

The word unilateral is used to express something done independently by one person, group or country. For example, the school principal took a unilateral decision to ban the use of mobile phones during teaching hours.

Example number 6 of 8: Harish was facing an interview for a senior position with an MNC.
The interview panel observed that he had extremely unilateral views about religious matters. Hence, they found him unsuitable for the position.

Example number 7 of 8: The prime minister released a statement that the country has zero tolerance towards antisocial elements. He announced unilateral measures to stop any activity which was against national security.

Example number 8 of 8: BB international school held a meeting with the parents. The parents requested the school not to change the timing of the school buses unilaterally. They requested to form a joint committee of teachers and parents to manage the same.
